Enriching cultural life and thought and increasing the literary movement and scene is a lofty al that is difficult for some entities without others to achieve. Despite the multiple responsible entities, whether vernmental or non-vernmental, individual and institutional cultural initiatives had a remarkable presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Among the most prominent of these initiatives is the Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative, which is a collective, voluntary cultural initiative with diverse activities and cognitive programs.
Productive Reading
The Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative is based in its basic orientation on enhancing productive reading, and spreading it on the widest possible scale, by facilitating the exchange of literary publications between writers, readers, and those interested inside and outside the Kingdom, to enhance the act of reading and transfer knowledge experiences between Arab writers, intellectuals, and readers, and to learn about the creative visions and artistic techniques in literary writing for each of them, which develops their skills at all levels.
Highlighting the Aesthetics and Techniques of Literary Works
The Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative also motivates its members to provide brief critical readings, and highlights the aesthetic and artistic aspects of the read literary works. Its vision in elevating the level of awareness of the importance of productive and critical reading, and enhancing the opportunities for the presence of creative literary works of obscure writers among readers, intellectuals, and those interested, and achieving the exchange of artistic and cognitive experiences between them, leads it to achieve these als.
Qualitative Initiatives for Intellectuals
Among the most prominent als that the Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative seeks to achieve is that the initiative's events and activities become a qualitative cultural platform for male and female intellectuals inside and outside the Kingdom. And to introduce the literary publications of the initiative's members and its partners from young intellectuals. And to adopt the publication of a number of distinguished literary works (poetry, prose) and issue them in cooperation with one of the Arab publishing houses. And contributing to encouraging the act of productive and non-productive reading among segments of society in general and among interested readers and intellectuals in particular. And enhancing the empowerment of voluntary work in the cultural field as a service to society.
Evenings of Sentiment and Poetry
In cooperation with the Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative, a group of cultural institutions such as the Azir Foundation, which resulted in poetic evenings and meetings attended by a group of literary creators, held in the "Seven Moons" area in northern Riyadh. Among the activities and evenings organized by the Diaa Al-Thaqafa initiative: a meeting about creativity and its experiences, in which Mr. Hatem Al-Shehri and Mr. Haitham Al-Ra'is excelled. And a poetic evening whose knights were Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Atl and Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Orij, and managed by Dr. Muteb Al-Badrani. And a lecture on the Japanese experience delivered by Mr. Sami Al-Arifi. And a training workshop on writing daily diaries, and diving into some of the worlds of writing for girls presented by Ms. Lubabah Abu Saleh.
And an evening in which sentiment sang between poetry and prose by Mr. Nasser Al-Dubaib and Mr. Saad Al-Zir. And a dialogue entitled (Content Writers and Digital Media) by Ms. Siham Al-Otaibi and Ms. Olwa Al-Asmari in partnership with the Ladies of Thought Forum. And an evening discussing the book "How Do I Live a Life That Looks Like Me?" by Mr. Al-Wadhahi Al-Ghuwayri and Ms. Fatima Al-Dossari.
In partnership with the Ladies of Thought Forum. And a poetic evening by Mr. Saad Al-Gharibi, Dr. Saud Al-Youssef, and Mr. Hatem Al-Judaiba. And an evening of selected literary readings presented by Mr. Hamad Al-Rashidi and moderated by Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Atl. And an evening of literary short stories by Ms. Sheikha Al-Haila and Ms. Hanan Abu Haimed.
