And now you can watch Shakespeare's plays while you are in your home

The Globe Theatre in South Bank has closed its doors for now, but there is a unique online opportunity to attend filmed performances that can be enjoyed. Globe Player has paid the cost of recordings for many of Shakespeare's works that have been modified over more than 10 years, including Mark Rylance and Stephen Fry in Twelfth Night; Jonathan Pryce as the Merchant of Venice; Emma Rice's wicked adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream; Adetomiwa Edun and Ellie Kendrick in the 2009 production of Romeo and Juliet; and Lucy Bailey's bloodthirsty Titus Andronicus. The website "The Londonist" says it's likely that watching one of these things in your home would be more comfortable than attending them in the theater itself, although you'll pay almost the same amount. Admittedly, the free content on Globe Player is limited, although there is some interesting behind-the-scenes content to check out.
