The Saudi National Committee for Education, Culture and Science presented the features of the general strategy for its membership within the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

The strategy is supposed to be implemented during the period from 2023 to 2025.

The strategy was presented by Dr. Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Qasoumi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for International Cooperation, and Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Bulaihid, Secretary-General of the Saudi National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, under the supervision and guidance of His Highness the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.

The strategy was presented on the sidelines of hosting the Executive Council of "ISESCO" in its 43rd session, which was held on December 23 and 24, and hosted by the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

The strategy, which focused on activating the strategic presence of the Kingdom in the organization, included 5 main lists. The first focused on the strategic al of joining ISESCO, the second addressed the "future perspective", the third included 75 initiatives, the fourth touched on 14 partnerships between Saudi entities and the organization, and the fifth and last included 4 recommendations.

The strategy defined its "main objective" in supporting "ISESCO" in a way that serves the countries of the Islamic world in strengthening their efforts in the fields of education, culture, science, information and communication. The "future perspective" of the strategy was distributed between improving the efficiency of the financial support allocated to the organization, providing Saudi awards in the organization''s fields of work, activating its regional and international role with the participation of Saudi experts, and finally enhancing participation in programs and initiatives through strategic partnerships in the organization''s sectors with the relevant local authorities.

Regarding the proposals announced by the strategy, it included 16 proposals, adopted by the National Committee, which focus in their entirety on consolidating the Kingdom''s presence and strengthening its role in ISESCO, 5 initiatives supervised by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, 3 initiatives implemented by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, 3 initiatives belonging to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, 7 initiatives carried out by the Ministry of Information, and 15 initiatives adopted by the Ministry of Education. In addition to the above, 22 initiatives are supervised by the Ministry of Culture, two initiatives carried out by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and finally one initiative adopted by the Misk Charity Foundation.

The list of "partnerships" contained in the strategy included 14 partnerships and memorandums of understanding, most notably memorandums of understanding between ISESCO on the one hand, with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Communications, and a number of educational, scientific and financial institutions and others.

The committee recommended working on implementing the strategic plan, in coordination with relevant authorities, and communicating with national authorities to determine the activities, programs and initiatives proposed for implementation, and increasing the introduction of the organization to authorities concerned with education, culture, science, information and communication (the vernment sector, and the private and non-profit sectors).
