Author Afrah bint Ahmed Muadhina has prepared a new authoring experience reconciling visual art and literary text through a triple vision involving the artist, poet, and critic in her book: "Critical Spaces: Between the Literary Text and the Visual Painting." She states: "This book is based on combining critical approaches to literary text and visual painting simultaneously... as the image may come as a parallel text to the literary work, an extension of it, or a way to deepen its meaning." The book contains 30 axes, each centered on a visual painting, a poem about it, and a critical reading. Muadhina collaborated with 30 critics, 29 artists, 26 poets, and three storytellers from inside and outside the Kingdom. Themes include identity, loyalty to homeland, security, time, pain, nostalgia, inspiration, and exile. The first axis, "Identity," features Sahar Mohammed Unani's painting "Behind it is You" and Tahani Al-Subaih's poem "A Journey of Interpretation." The critical reading focuses on the "door" symbol as an authentic heritage element representing pride and protection, mirroring the Arabic language as a protector of identity. The book continues through thirty axes with thirty paintings and poems, providing a dialogue between tranquility and silence.
