Is the Future for the Heart?

Is the Future for the Heart?

Mona Amer Al-Osaimi

From what I extracted reflecting on the book "A Whole New Mind" by the author "Daniel Pink" is that the future is for the heart, the one we scolded for so long and closed the ways of expression around it, and we glared at it to stop, whenever a glance came from it, in order to protect it, because the environment around it does not encourage its appearance, for the power is for the mind and the order is for it from before and from after. So why does the heart poke its nose into a matter that does not concern it?

This new era throws into our lives through the flood of abundance millions of things, but due to their excessive availability, the mind lost its control over them, and the decision of its use became dependent on the heart's acceptance of it. For a product to succeed, it must touch the need of this rational side of the brain, and it must address everything that is of importance to it, and this ignites the property of the heart: "Welcome O heart, what do you like? Does it represent a special meaning to you that you want me to acquire it for? Well then .. it is so."

Wherein thinking directed by the rational half of the brain is no longer welcomed as in the past eras, starting from the farm era in which man fought a struggle to adapt physically with the nature of the work that would be his source of livelihood and the basis of his staying alive, to the industrial era in which the body of the worker remained the focus of assignment and staying steadfast to operate the machine that began competing with him for survival, even though the rational half of the brain was the one that invented it. Then devices and inventions followed that dispensed with the human body.

The rational side of the brain has performed its pioneering role to the extent that it stopped being able to do more than that, in an era called the age of information and knowledge workers. The decision of success for the product and also the decision of its acquisition is no longer within the powers of the rational brain as in the past, but has become within the powers of the emotional side of the brain where emotions and feelings reside, and the total image described as beautiful rests in it.

The future of success in professions has become verned by the answer to the question: Can the machine do what I will choose as a profession?

If the answer is no, then you have chosen a profession that needs to activate your heart first, and then the rest of your mental skills, and therefore you have come closer to success if you haven't already guaranteed it.

In order to succeed in your choice of profession, you must focus on the skills closely related to the heart such as creativity in design and the ability to tell stories. If the products have increased and expanded in a repetitive and similar manner, they need a od marketer who wraps them in stories that tickle emotions and carry them to acquire these products. Also the ability to link two or more products with links, despite the non-existence of these links on the ground, and re-using the product in a more effective way. This ability to link was named by the author as the symphony. Also among the skills required in the professions of this era is the ability to empathize where danger and defect are revealed through it. It is natural that this abundance in material things enhances the human orientation to search for meaning.
