Interviewed by: Abdullah Al-Samti. Since the publication of her first collection of stories seventeen years a, storyteller Ibtisam Al-Baqami has been working diligently to develop the art of the short-short story, which she sees as the most appropriate expression in the digital age. From here, she translated her story works into English, French, Spanish, and Amazigh, and is working on translating them into Italian. She has issued three collections: "Disturbance", "The Signal is Still Red", and "Azure Perfume", as well as a book titled: "Harvest of the Mind" containing a group of her social and cultural articles. Regarding her story beginnings, Ibtisam Al-Baqami says: "The most difficult thing in existence is the beginnings. All psychological theories of growth, influence and being influenced by the socio-cultural environment have pointed this out." Al-Baqami adds: "My first embryonic beginnings were formed in the arms of my family. I drew from the lived experience and wrote with the innocence of the beginners by publishing the book 'Disturbance' in 2004 with the support of the Makkah Cultural and Literary Club, which was a collection of short stories that found acceptance and satisfaction from the reader, recipient and media. But they remain young and ambitious beginnings and were the first and necessary steps on the path of success, creativity and writing, the eternal passion and madness."
