Bisyah and Salut in Oman are significant archaeological sites with evidence of human settlement from the Bronze and Iron Ages. Excavations since 1973 have uncovered forts, communal tombs, and unique rock art. UNESCO has placed this cultural landscape on its tentative list for World Heritage status.
