The danger facing the human mind

The danger facing the human mind

Randa Sadek writes: It is impossible to believe that there is an impossible. History shows that everything that happened in human history was once considered impossible or madness. From the idea of the Earth being spherical to the idea of traveling to the Moon, everything became a point of human development.

The world is steadily moving toward a programmed replacement of the role of the human mind with the electronic mind. Science fiction literature has provided many prophecies. For example, Morgan Robertson wrote about the Titanic 14 years before it sank. Jules Verne predicted the moon landing in 1865. Mark Twain described the internet as we know it today in 1898. H.G. Wells described the atomic bomb thirty years before its first tests.

Artificial Intelligence is a machine capable of learning, inference, and decision-making. The fear now is that this development indicates the end of the human role and the disappearance of many professions. We are unknowingly moving through our smartphones toward canceling our analytical abilities. In 2015, the "Data Science Machine" exceeded human capabilities in processing vast amounts of information. Mark Zuckerberg has stated his intention to control everything from home to work through AI. This development is not safe; it will sideline the human mind in favor of programmed machines. Let us smile because the world will be verned by machines, and peace be upon the human mind and muscles.
